It's time to get the information out there that we have gathered over the past 5 years about the historic Pacheco Pioneer Cemtery, Pacheco, CA. Begun in 1862, when landowner, George P. Loucks allowed the burial of a young boy on his property, the cemetery has grown and groaned over the years.
Friends of Pacheco Cemetery, Inc formed in 2003, in order to research the history of the cemetery and those buried in it; to provide continuity of caring about the cemetery's condition; to work with owners and/or government entities to provide for its care and preservation.
We have gathered the burial records of over 2200 people who have been interred there. We have collated reams of information on the original land grant, the deed transfers, and the ownership issues. More will be added as time goes on.

Wow! Thanks for all of your hard work on this project. I'll be anxious to see the history come alive.
Way to go with the blog! It will be great to have all the information you've gathered in one public venue.
Great news....we had a garage sale in early May and made $638! Not bad for 2 days of fun (and back-breaking lifting!).
The Pacheco Town Council is having a celebration June 9....to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the town's beginnings, and to re-dedicate their beautiful town hall, build in 1997. The day runs from 10am-6pm...with special events an noon and 12:45.
We will be there with our new "hot off the press" brochures!
Congrats!!
Really happy to see this blog getting up steam. The more folks that come here, the better to really get a true history of Pacheco Pioneer Cemetery into view of the public. I'll try my best to contribute whatever information I can verify about my ancestors that are resting in Pacheco Pioneer Cemetery.
I hope this blog will find Valeria Blowers' marker. I will give whatever information I have about her.
Rebecca...hey, contact me at pachecocemetery@comcast.net and I'll work with you on this again.
We are happy that the cemetery is under active and licensed ownership once again and is now open for visitation Monday-Friday, from 10am-3pm. It is located at 4795 Blum Road, just off Contra Costa Blvd, near Pacheco, CA.
While still "under improvement" it currently retains it's pioneer look. The view of Mt. Diablo from the cemetery is lovely.
Many early Pacheco and Concord pioneers are buried there. More later.
